The police inspectorate has announced that it has suspended a police officer from work. It is suspected that while he was off duty and in a private car, he accidentally hit a pedestrian with his car.

According to the press release, the accident happened on "Hasan Prishtina" street in Obiliq, while the pedestrian was crossing the street.

It has been announced that the driver sent the injured woman to the Family Medicine Center in Obiliq for medical treatment, and then the medical staff sent the same woman for treatment to the UCCK Prishtina.

"Investigators of the PIK, upon receiving the information, have begun to undertake the initial investigative actions in coordination with the guardian prosecutor... After the investigative actions, the suspect (the official) was arrested by the PIK on the suspicion of having committed the criminal offense police) against whom the prosecutor has issued a decree for detention for 48 hours. As part of the investigative administrative procedure, the police officer has been suspended from work", the communiqué states.

It states that other actions will be taken in accordance with the legal authorizations of the PIK and in coordination with the competent prosecution.
