Consumer citizens should be careful when buying food products, as the food industry market remains supplied with products questionable in terms of quality and expire dates. In 2021 alone, the Food Agency disposed of about 640 tons of meat products and other food products that had expired, were not stored in adequate conditions and were not treated properly by traders. This was announced by the acting chief of the Food and Veterinary Agency, Flamur Kadriu in an interview for KosovaPress. He says that the number of complaints from consumers who are encountering low quality products and without a deadline has increased. This Agency, in the course of its work to prevent the spread of COVID-19, has fined over 4 thousand businesses and over 2 thousand citizens. While due to these antiCovid-19 measures, the FVA has stalled in monitoring the law on tobacco.
