As of today, 350 new military recruits have joined the Kosovo Security Force (KSF). At the oath-taking ceremony for the second generation of recruits for 2025, state representatives emphasized that Kosovo’s soldiers are unbreakable and that the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity are inviolable.
Despite the high temperatures across the country, families still gathered at the "Bill Clinton" sports hall in Ferizaj to witness the ceremony and support their loved ones.
“Our army is now more equipped than ever before with military arsenal, including some of the most modern weapon systems. Within two years, we expect the first state-owned munitions production factory to be operational. The Kosovo Army is progressing rapidly toward full development as a professional, multiethnic military force. You, dear recruits, are fulfilling the dream of all those who sacrificed for freedom. Built on the sacrifice of martyrs—led by the legendary commander Adem Jashari—and aligned with NATO doctrines, our army has reached the level of a professional, interoperable force alongside partner countries,” he said.
Kurti addressed the new recruits, saying that they have now mastered the foundations of military science. As the world faces a range of threats, our state has deepened its cooperation with strategic allies and partners. In the face of any enemy or threat to peace and security, Kosovo is no longer defenseless—it is represented by a capable army full of young men and women who, like you, wear the uniform bearing the eagle symbol with unwavering pride. Professionally and logistically prepared, our soldiers are unbeatable and unbreakable, and our sovereignty and territorial integrity are inviolable,” Kurti stated.
Commander of Doctrine and Training, Jeton Dreshaj, said that from now on, the new recruits will serve to preserve peace and protect the country’s territorial integrity.
Kosovo Security Force recruit Erion Musliu said the country's past inspired him to join the army.
Another soldier, Rina Doroci from Mitrovica, said the training period was a source of motivation not to give up.
“It feels amazing to be part of the Kosovo Security Force. I had a great experience during basic training—our instructors gave us the motivation and support we needed not to give up,” she said.
“It’s very emotional. I wish him and all his fellow soldiers success, good fortune, and health as they serve the country. I’m a war veteran—my father was killed during the war. Thankfully, my son passed the tests and was accepted,” he said.
At the certification ceremony for the new Kosovo Security Force recruits, commendations were also awarded to outstanding recruits, instructors, and lieutenants.
