After about 20 years of successful work of the University of Prishtina, the years 1989-1990 marked the beginning of the unstoppable Serbian efforts to destroy the higher education in Kosovo.

With the arrival of Slobodan Milosevic at the helm of Serbia, the Albanian school in Kosovo, in particular the University of Prishtina, received major blows that led to serious endangerment, with the dimensions of the destruction of Albanian education.
