For six months in Kosovo, 27 police officers have been arrested, while 65 others have been suspended. Ill-treatment in the exercise of official duty and abuse of official authority are the two most common offenses for which members of the Kosovo Police are being investigated. On the other hand, during this period the number of complaints of citizens has increased, where in the Police Inspectorate, 923 complaints have been received. The Chief of the Kosovo Police Inspectorate, Kushtrim Hodaj states that there are 358 criminal cases being handled by the investigation department. He claims for KosovaPress that there is an increase in complaints of citizens, but also of arrests and suspensions of police officers.
