Today marks 22 years since the massacre on the night between 3 and 4 February 2000 in northern Mitrovica, where the 'Bridge Guards' killed 10 Albanians, among whom children, women and the elderly, injured many others, while deporting about 12 thousand Albanians, who were forced to cross south of the city, leaving their homes on fire. The Council for the Protection of Human Rights and Freedoms (CDHRF) had said that all these killings took place in the presence of French KFOR soldiers and international police. On the night between 3 and 4 February 2000, Nezir and Shqipe Voca, Niman Sejdiu, Bashkim Rrukeci, Sebiha Abrashi, Selime Berisha, Muharrem Sokoli, Nderim Ajeti, Nerimane Xhaka and Remzije Canhasi were killed. According to witnesses, the killing operation was led by the Serbian Interior Ministry, led by former commander Dragan Delibasic, the now-assassinated Serbian politician Oliver Ivanovic, and others. The Basic Court in Mitrovica in 2014 found Ivanovic guilty of 9 years in prison for war crimes against Albanians during and after the war in Kosovo. / KosovaPress /
