​The 5-year application deadline for survivors of sexual violence ends

At the beginning of this week, the doors of the commission for recognizing the status of women and men sexually violated in the war were closed. The five-year term of the government commission ended on Sunday, and only the applications that have been submitted by the 5th of this month will be considered by the commission. The member of the commission's secretariat, Labinot Bala, says that since the beginning of the process, the commission has received a total of 1935 applications.

Recently, the completion of the law on the extension of the deadline for application has been initiated and the public discussion has begun, says the director of The Kosova Rehabilitation Centre for Torture Victims (KRCT), Feride Rushiti. She tells that they submitted their recommendations, with the request that the deadline for application not be limited to the next two years, since war crimes do not have a statute of limitations...
