One of the “Top Ten” of the KLA, Rexhep Selimi, said on Wednesday that Kosovo’s history cannot be rewritten in a courtroom, reports KosovaPress.

"Serbia never hid its intentions toward Albanians. So I ask again: What were we supposed to do? Wait our turn to be killed, or leave our homes? The KLA was not created out of desire but out of necessity," he said before the trial panel in The Hague.

"For me, being a comrade-in-arms of Adem Jashari is the greatest honor.

Yes, I carried weapons. For us, weapons meant survival. The Kosovo Liberation Army had no goal other than freedom. The KLA was a liberation army.

I am convinced we did the right thing. Even today, I would do the same. That is why NATO supported us," he said, among other remarks, as he continues his speech.

“Veterans’ pensions, old-age pensions, and pensions for persons with disabilities and the blind are far below Kosovo’s minimum wage. We know that the minimum wage has been increased to 425 euros, while they still receive pensions of 170–180 euros. How possible is it for us, together as a committee, to draft an amendment through which we request an increase… If we can have cooperation on this, we have time until tomorrow at 12:00 if we wish to submit an amendment as a committee,” she said.

Support for this amendment was expressed by LDK MP Armend Zemaj.
