Kosovo, like the countries of the Western Balkans, has stalled in the fight against corruption, according to the Corruption Perception Index. For two years in a row, the country remains with 36 points out of 100 points. The index conducted by Transparency International was presented today by the Democratic Institute of Kosovo, which estimates that there is an urgent need for independence in the justice system, fight against corruption and transparency in procurement procedures. Denmark and New Zealand hold the top spot in recent years with 88 points, followed by Finland, Singapore, Sweden and Switzerland. Somalia, North Sudan, Syria, Yemen, Venezuela and North Korea hold the last place in the world. The global average of points is 43 and none of the Western Balkan countries has managed to exceed this average.
