Present were the mayor of this municipality, Smajl Latifi, the chairman of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), Ramush Haradinaj, the Minister of Justice, Albulena Haxhiu, as well as family members of the fallen and many citizens.
In his speech, Latifi said that 25 years have passed without the soldiers who gave their lives, but that they are the reason that Kosovo breathes free today.
Meanwhile, the president of AAK, Ramush Haradinaj, has stated that NATO has supported Kosovo in times of war, while Kosovo will be with them forever in times of peace.Likewise, the village's vice president, Besnik Popaj, added that the blood of the fallen is the reason and light of our freedom.
After the celebration, President Latifi sent the leader of the AAK, Haradinaj, to the Bellaja River, where all the KLA soldiers were killed in Fortesa on March 25, 1999. During the 1999 war, 69 martyrs were killed by Serbian forces in the village of Fortesa, 54 martyrs in Brestoc, while 75 martyrs were killed in Celina.
