Kupina is taking this position for the second time, for which he promised that we will continue to work with maximum seriousness and dedication for the general public good in improving the lives of citizens.
On the occasion of the election of the head of the Municipal Assembly of the Capital, Kupina said in a speech that constitutionality, legality, transparency, accountability, democratic functioning and deep cooperation with the members of the Assembly and with the executive remain the main principles with which it will operate during the exercise of his duty.
She said that in the third vote, the candidate who receives more than half of the votes of the members of the assembly present and who vote for the proposal at the assembly meeting is elected.
The proposal for the appointment of Kupina as chairman of the Prishtina Municipal Assembly was made by the representative of the New Kosovo Alliance (AKR), Gëzim Mehmeti.Meanwhile, in the first round, with 20 votes in favor and 10 abstentions, the selection of the independent candidate, Fehmi Kupina, as chairman of the Prishtina Assembly failed. Whereas, the second round failed with 21 votes in favor and 9 abstentions.
On February 27, with 33 votes in favor, the chairman of the Municipal Assembly of Prishtina, Pëllumb Bajqinovci, was dismissed.
