"Covid Clinics", the protagonists talk about difficult and challenging moments
COVID-19 changed everything. As the number of cases of citizens infected with this unknown virus increased, the rooms of clinics and hospitals in Kosovo became filled with patients. In this struggle, the health professionals were the "silent soldiers" in whom we had the only hope. While there were not many cases in March, mid-summer came with a blast wave of COVID-19, where hospitals consequently had to increase the capacity of the beds. In order to cope with the large influx of patients, in addition to the Infectious Diseases Clinic, the infected were hospitalized in Pulmonology, Intensive Care Clinic, Sports Medicine, Internal Medicine Clinic, and two wards for cases with COVID-19 were opened within Gynecology Clinic and Pediatrics. Hundreds of patients were also treated at seven regional general hospitals nationwide.
