Biden not mentioning the Washington Agreement is being considered a distance from it
The official non-mention of the Washington agreement by the new US administration has cast doubt on President Joe Biden's support for the September 4 commitments between Kosovo and Serbia. In the two letters, the official exchanges of the American president, addressed to the acting president of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, and the Serbian president, Vuicic, he doesn’t mention at all the agreement reached by Washington under the Trump administration. According to experts in international relations, this is not a coincidence, but shows the distance of the new administration from the agreement, as they say that only parts of it can be pushed forward.
The Vetevendosje Movement, as the winning party in the February 14 elections, continues to consider that the only good thing from that agreement was the recognition of Israel. VV spokesman, Perparim Kryeziu says for KosovaPress that knowing what that agreement represents for Kosovo, they will sit down with the new US administration to discuss, as some of those items of the agreement, according to him were also in the framework of the Brussels dialogue.
