​AGK: Institutions to guarantee the free speech of journalists and freedom of the press

The Association of Journalists of Kosovo held a conference on World Press Freedom Day, a day which it marks under the motto "Blackout me" which aims to present what a day without media would look like. The Association of Journalists of Kosovo also presented the attacks of journalists during this year and previous years. In 2020, 6 death threats and 4 attacks on journalists were reported in AGK. While so far in 2021, 4 life threats have been reported as well as an attack on journalists. Kosovo still mourns the death and disappearance of 15 journalists. Regarding threats and attacks on journalists, AGK board member Leonora Dalipi said that Kosovo institutions have an obligation to guarantee the free speech of journalists and create a safe environment to exercise the role of journalist.
