Before the Basic Court of Prizren today, several citizens and activists protested against the sentence of Ilir Haxhiaj to 15 years in prison for the murder of his wife, Hatije Dina. Protesters opposed the decision, saying it was "low". Under the slogans "Justice for Hatije Dina", "It is murder and not bodily injury", "Meritorious sentence for Ilir Haxhiaj" the protesters demanded justice for the murdered women. The activist, Liridona Sijarina said that the sentence that the Basic Court of Prizren issued for Ilir Haxhiaj is low, and according to her such a decision is an institutional injustice against all women who experience violence. Sijarina said that through this protest they are demanding a deserved punishment for the murder of Hatije Dina, who was murdered by her husband. According to her, such low sentences are increasing the cases of violence and murder of women by men.
