Serbian citizens who have license plates with the acronyms KM and other cities of Kosovo on their vehicles, during their traffic from Kosovo to Serbia and vice versa through the Jarinja border, have been reprimanded by the Kosovo Police.

KosovaPress learns from sources at the border of Jarinje that since the beginning of the implementation of the government's decision and until the time we are reporting, about 40 reprimands have been issued at this border point.

Along the highway Mitrovica - Leposavic - Jarinje, vehicles with members of KFOR were seen in several locations, while members of EULEX are standing right next to the border of Jarinje.

Most of them have not agreed to speak in front of the camera, although behind it they have said that they will not register the vehicles with RKS license plates. The latter have affirmed for KosovaPress that they accepted the reprimand for the illegal license plates.

Today the implementation of the decision of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo on illegal license plates has begun, according to which Serbs will only receive warnings until November 21, as the first stage of converting license plates to RKS, while the general security situation in the north of the country is calm.

The spokesperson of the US Department of State, Ned Price, has said that the United States of America is disappointed and concerned that the Government of Kosovo has rejected the request and advice of international allies to extend the deadline for the implementation of the license plate decision.
