The number of students who requested documents to migrate abroad in the first half of this school year and only two months after visa liberalization reached 267. However, the largest number is reported to be teachers.

There are close to 600 teachers who have left the country, and there are those who leave without announcing their resignation. Meanwhile, students are withdrawing documents with the reason for family reunification and education in another country.

From the leaders of the Education Union and some school principals, this situation in the schools is considered worrying, and they even emphasize that if this flow of students and teachers leaving continues, the schools in the country will remain empty.

Only in the "Mihal Grameno" primary school, in Fusha Kosova, 75 students and one teacher withdrew their documents.

The director of this school, Ismet Gashi, said that these school leaving notices are not the last.

According to him, another number of students are waiting for documents to leave the school.

Likewise, the director of the "Gjergj Fishta" primary school, Supije Zhitia, has shown that the number of students has decreased and that there have been several requests for the withdrawal of documents with reasons for family reunification abroad.

Meanwhile, the vice president of the Education Union, Vjollca Shala, says that the schools will remain without teachers.

Shala said that visa liberalization is an open way for teachers to flee.

The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, in a written response, indicated that the number of students who requested their documents to leave school is 267.

"The number of students who left pre-university institutions (public and private) in the first half of this school year was 267. Whereas, in the 2022/2023 school year, this number was 388", MESTI wrote.
