The Central Election Commission (CEC) has accredited 18,163 observers from 21 different political parties that are certified to participate in the Kosovo Assembly Elections, which will be held on February 9, 2025.
At the CEC meeting, it was announced that the two political parties, the Vetevendosje Movement (LVV) and the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), have applied with the largest number of observers, with over 4,000.
The Director of the Office for Registration, Certification and Financial Control of Political parties, Besnik Buzhala, showed the number of applicants for observers from 21 political parties.
“There are a total of 21 political parties. The total number of observers of political parties is 18 thousand 163. I am starting with the Democratic League of Kosovo with a total of 3 thousand 693 observers. The Kosovo Democratic Turkish Party with 257 observers…The Serbian List with 290 observers. The Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) and the Social Democratic Initiative with 3 thousand 571 observers. The Coalition for Family with 253 observers… The Vetëvendosje Movement has applied with a total of 4 thousand 356 observers, who are not candidates for the elections in Kosovo and all observers are on the final list of voters…The Democratic Party of Kosovo has applied with a total of 3 thousand 939 observers, they are from the second group. If we include the observers from the first group, who were 95, there are 4,034 observers in total," said Buzhala.
In addition, among the items on the agenda was the approval of the secretariat's recommendation for the use of the Ombudsman's premises for the evaluation and acceptance of postal ballots from outside Kosovo.
