The tourist season in Albania; income doubles and the number of foreign tourists increases

Albania has had a surprising summer season. This is how Prime Minister Edi Rama considers, who said that the season brought a doubling of income from tourism to the economy, as well as an increase in the number of tourists who visited Albania, compared to a year ago. He said that in the first half of the year alone, there were over 1 billion Albanian Lek in income from tourism, while the flow of foreign visitors, until August, was over 5 million 600 thousand tourists, or 1.3 million more than last year. All this without counting the tourists from Kosovo.

On World Tourism Day and at the end of the 2022 summer tourist season, an extended meeting was organized in one of the new hotels in Durrës, with leaders of local government, representatives of the private sector involved in tourism, leaders of police structures of the state, etc., for a general balance of the summer tourist season that ended, and for forecasts for the next season 2023, with a focus on improving the standards of the tourism industry, for sustainable development all year round...
