The Chairman of the Specialized Chambers, Ekateriana Trendafilova, has appointed the trial body in the case against Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Rexhep Selim and Jakup Krasniqi, with this composition: Charles Smith III, Christoph Barthe, Guenaël Mettraux, and Fergal Gaynor as reserve judges.

The judge of the preliminary procedure has informed the president of the Specialized Chambers in The Hague that the case file against the former leaders of the KLA will be ready to go to the jury on December 15, 2022.

The announcement to this effect was made public on the court's official website.

The indictment against Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Rexhep Selim and Jakup Krasniqi regarding the allegation of war crimes was confirmed on October 26, 2020, while in their first appearances at the Specialized Chambers in The Hague, they pleaded not guilty.

They have been in detention in The Hague since November 2020.

On April 29, the Office of the Specialized Prosecutor submitted an amended indictment against Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Rexhep Selim and Jakup Krasniqi, claiming that the accused have committed war crimes in Gjilan, Budakovo and Semetishte.
