The National Library is regarded by Australian architects as a real treasure
The new perspective seminar for modern heritage in Southeast Europe, which is supported by the Getty Foundation, is being held in Kosovo from July 1 to 4 this year, in which there are architects from all over the world, from Armenia, Ukraine, India, Australia, America and Europe.
The aim of this seminar is to transfer knowledge and promote the drafting of conservation and management plans not only in Kosovo but in the entire region.
The director of this seminar and festival, Bekim Ranku, told KosovaPress that there are also three workshops for evaluating the values of the youth and sports palace with the LMNL team (architecture office) from the Netherlands who are working in the yard of the foundation and in the house of Hivzi Sylejmani to create a garden.
Meanwhile, the Australian architect Sheridan Burke, who made the conservation plan for the opera house in Sidney, which is on the world heritage list.
Burke's message is that as a people we should take care of the National Library, who values it as a real treasure in Kosovo.
Also, Vaidas Petrulis from Lithuania, who is an associate professor and lecturer in architecture, history and cultural heritage at Kaunas University of Technology, has added that the people are very important in preserving the cultural heritage, therefore they should know where their value lies.
In addition to the seminar, the architecture festival is also being held at Kino Armata from 18:45.
