The Regional Directorate of Police in Prishtina during the year 2023 recorded over 20 thousand cases, whereas over 800 operational plans were successfully implemented in the prevention of crime and the arrest of suspected persons.

In the presentation of the annual work report 2023, the regional director of the Kosova Police for Prishtina, lieutenant colonel Basri Shabani, said that about 12,000 fines more than in 2022 were issued in traffic and more than 2,000 driver's licenses were suspended.

Shabani said that the police response time has been shortened to 14 minutes, which was 17 in 2022, while working towards the realization of the objectives for improving public safety parameters.

Shabani emphasized that the Regional Operational Communication Center, on the emergency number 192, has received and administered 309,128 calls from citizens.

Meanwhile, Major Bekim Bislimi said that among the objectives of this directorate for 2024 are the prevention and fight against criminality, the opening of sectoral offices, the opening of two substations in Komoran and Hajvali, the strengthening of cooperation with other security institutions and others.

The Director of the Division for Security in KP, Arbnesh Ajvazi, said that among the biggest challenges is the North, for which he said that during the past year, due to the developed situations, they have been very busy in assisting the Regional Directorate of the North, but despite this they have managed to successfully complete their mission.
