The "Heroes of the pandemic" demand their salaries and the extension of their contracts

The nurses and doctors who were engaged during the COVID-19 pandemic, from March this year they have not received their salaries. They protested today in front of the Ministry of Health, demanding the extension of their contracts, which expire next month.

With placards in hand with the inscriptions "Minister, answer us until 16:00, because we have a German language course at 17:00", "You are all proud of the pandemic management, we were the reason", "Heroes of the pandemic, forgotten by the Government of Kosovo”, they demanded answers to both of their requests. The representative of the nurses in UCCK, Nurie Ukaj, said that despite the fact that they have constantly addressed requests to the MoH, they have not received any response about their requests. According to her, some of the support staff have been forced to boycott work due to financial difficulties...
