Today, in the continuation of the extraordinary session, the Assembly of Kosovo approved three agreements.

The ratification of the Agreement on the recognition of professional qualifications for nurses, veterinary surgeons, pharmacists and midwives in the context of the Central European Free Trade Agreement, is the first agreement that was voted.

Meanwhile, after that, the vote was also in favor of the ratification of the Amendment to the Agreement on the Establishment of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

Also, although there were debates between the position and the opposition, with 80 votes it was also approved for the ratification of the Credit Agreement between the Republic of Kosovo represented by the Ministry of Finance, Labor and Transfers and the Development Bank of the Council of Europe (CoEDB) for the Project "Adequate social housing".

The proposal for this agreement, which has a total value of 25 million euros, was made by the Minister of Finance, Labor and Transfers, Hekuran Murati.

He said that the main goal of this project is to develop the social housing management system in Kosovo and increase the number of social housing units in the country.

Murati emphasized that the approval of this agreement will benefit vulnerable families and those with low incomes, which have not resolved the housing issue.

In addition, he added that affordable rents can also benefit low- to middle-income families, who find it difficult to afford market prices for housing.

In this regard, the MP of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Eliza Hoxha, criticized the government for handling this draft law, for which she said that the law on social housing has not yet been brought to the parliament.

For this, Hoxha said that this draft law exists since 2019.

As an important issue, the PDK MP mentioned the fact of how the beneficiary families will be selected.

Meanwhile, MP of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Avdullah Hoti said that despite the fact that they will support this agreement, clarifications should be given about it.
