The illegal wall in the north of Mitrovica, near Ibar Bridge, was finally demolished on February 5, 2017.

It took two excavators just one hour to demolish the wall built in northern Mitrovica.

While it has been said that there will be no walls in that part, the opening of the bridge that connects the south and the north was also announced.

The first to come out to observe the works was the head of the European Union Office in Kosovo, Natalija Apostollova, who said that it was an important moment for Mitrovica and its citizens, adding that soon to form the Association of Serbian municipalities.

The dividing wall has stood in that part of the city for two consecutive months./KosovaPress/
