Serbian forces in Kosovo? Ibishi: It cannot happen, increasing the number of police officers in the north is a right decision
The expert on security issues, Nuredin Ibishi,
considers as a threat of the Serbian state to the Republic of Kosovo the
statements of Belgrade officials about sending 1000 Serbian soldiers. According
to him, this cannot happen and the citation of resolution 1244 to justify this
act is all misinterpretation.
Ibishi requests that the demands of
international partners be taken into account for postponing the snap municipal
elections in the four northern municipalities. However, he says that security
institutions should provide their assessments based on field analyses.
He considers that before a decision to postpone the elections or not, Kosovo's institutions should be careful and harmonize their positions with international allies...
