This is what Sazan Ibrahimi, the president of the Association of Kosovo Municipalities, says in an interview for KosovaPress, as he mentions that the absolute majority of the mayors of the municipalities have complained that the central level is not supporting them in a sincere way.
Among the main challenges, Ibrahimi mentions the collective contracts which are being applied unfairly at the expense of the municipalities, costing them millions of euros. He points out that this year 22 municipalities will have shortages in financial means for new capital investments.
The President of the Association of Kosovo Municipalities said that an administrative instruction is being drawn up, with which the central level will try to take the spaces of the municipalities. For this administrative instruction, Ibrahimi says that there is no legal basis.
He indicates that the municipalities are in the process of drafting the municipal budget for 2025, for which he says that they are expected to accept the budget limits of expenses by the end of July or the beginning of August. Regarding this, Ibrahimi says that the municipalities are not satisfied, as there will be shortage in educational and health personnel. /Z. Zeneli/
