Rahovec, Obiliq, Skënderaj, Suhareka, Kaçanik, Shtime, Malisheva, Dragash, Ranillug, Partesh and Peja are the 11 municipalities benefiting from the municipal performance grant, in the amount of 8.3 million euros, which have signed an agreement with the Ministry of Local Government Administration.

In his speech, the first deputy prime minister for European Integration, Besnik Bislimi, said that the starting point for any success in the journey towards the EU is the reform of the public administration.

Bislimi, while congratulating all the municipalities that came out first this year, emphasized that in order not to misuse this potential, it is very important that during the implementation of the performance grant there is correctness in the reporting of municipal officials.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Local Government Administration, Elbert Krasniqi, said that this grant is based on the relevant law approved by the Assembly of Kosovo.

He added that MLGA aims to support projects that are based on increasing the quality of life of citizens, such as the addition of green spaces, the regulation of riverbeds or the reduction of waste spaces.

Meanwhile, the representative of the EU in Kosovo, Tomas Szunyog, expressed his happiness with the achievements of the municipalities of Kosovo.

According to him, improving the efficiency of Kosovo's municipalities is a key aspect of good governance.
