The current situation with patients affected by COVID-19, essential medicines as well as protective equipment in Peja Hospital is stable, but in this hospital, they say that there is a lack of infectologists.  Kushtrim Krasniqi, cardiologist at Peja Hospital, told KosovaPress that there is a lack of infectologists, but he hopes that there will be other doctors interested, especially in the infectious diseases ward. "In Peja hospital we have a lack of infectologists. Currently there is only one doctor, an infectologist specialist and we hope that in the future we will have other doctors who join the Peja hospital and the infectious disease ward", said Krasniqi. He said that there are currently two patients with COVID-19, but that their condition is stable. "Currently we have only two patients infected with the COVID-19 virus, who are hospitalized in the infectious ward and their current condition is stable. They are on oxygen therapy and other protocol therapy, which is implemented in Kosovo. At the moment, we have enough beds for other patients, which at the moment there is a decrease of the number of patients with this virus ", he said. Fortunately, he said, there was never a shortage of drugs or protective measures during the pandemic. "There is no shortage of drugs from the essential list and there has never been during this time of the pandemic, so we have constantly had drugs from the essential list for treatment of patients with COVID-19 ... Fortunately from the beginning of the pandemic we constantly had means for the treatment of this virus, so we have never lacked in this aspect", he said.
