NAO: Municipalities to pay attention to project management of the Municipal Performance Grant
The National Audit Office (NAO) has published the performance audit report "Projects funded by the Municipal Performance Grant SDC / DEMOS for fiscal year 2020". The grant is co-financed by the Swiss Foundation in Kosovo / Municipal Decentralization and Support Project. The purpose of this audit was to assess whether the expenditures and management of capital projects of the Municipal Performance Grant are in line with the requirements of donors and whether they have achieved the intended results. The subject of the audit were the municipalities: Peja, Gjakova, Mitrovica South and Kllokot.
The audit concluded that municipalities have generally applied the rules in force while the Municipal Performance Grant has assisted municipalities in achieving strategic objectives. It was in function of the goal to provide better municipal infrastructure services to the citizens.
