The start of work on the construction of the national stadium of Kosovo was expected to begin as early as 2019, but this project has not yet reached a conclusion. Now, with the candidacy for the organization of the Prishtina 2030 Mediterranean Games, among the plans of the local institutions is the beginning of the construction of the national stadium.

The Minister of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS), Hajrulla Çeku, a few months ago, had unveiled the plan for the construction and renovation of 27 stadiums in Kosovo where the national stadium was part of them, this plan is expected to be implemented during the next five years.

Although the commission for the evaluation of the construction of stadiums has been formed, nothing is yet known regarding the construction of the national stadium, neither the place nor the time when construction will begin.

In an interview for KosovaPress, the deputy minister of MCYS, Daulina Osmani announced that the project of the national stadium is intended to be presented within this year. Likewise, Osmani indicated that work is being done with high intensity on the master plan and on the drafting of the legal framework for the Prishtina 2030 Mediterranean Games.
