The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, has joined the call of the Vice President of the United States, Kamala Harris and other world leaders for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, the release of hostages and the increase of humanitarian aid.

Kurti wrote on X that the civilian deaths and suffering in the months since the Hamas terrorist attack are an urgent call for swift and decisive action.

On October 7, 2023, Palestinian militant groups led by Hamas launched a large-scale attack against Israel from the Gaza Strip, breaching the Gaza-Israel barrier and forcing their way from Gaza border points into nearby Israeli cities, adjacent military installations and civil settlements. This is the first direct conflict within the territory of Israel since the Arab-Israeli War of 1948, where it is considered that more than 30 thousand people have been killed.
