Kosovo's application remains in the drawers of the Council of Europe

The Council of Europe (CE) continues to keep Kosovo's membership application in the drawer. Delays in reviewing Kosovo's application are being considered bureaucratic, however, it is considered that it was the right momentum to apply, despite criticism that Kosovo had to wait until a majority of votes in the Council were secured. Meanwhile, although key EU countries have supported Kosovo's aspirations for membership in the CE, the advancement is further linked to the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue.
