Konjufca in Estonia: The alliance of democratic countries is the only answer to the Russian threat

The Speaker of the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo, Glauk Konjufca, in the wake of his official visit to Estonia, was received in a meeting by the President of the Republic of Estonia, Alar Karis, where he informed him of the political situation in our country, in which case he emphasized the maximum commitment of Kosovo's institutions towards security, especially after the terrorist attack in Banjska, with full awareness of the danger that Russian influence in Serbia poses for our region and beyond.

Konjufca thanked President Karis for the warm welcome and expressed gratitude for the support of the Estonian state to the Republic of Kosovo and its goals for integration into European and international structures.

According to a communique of the Assembly, the cooperation between the two friendly countries so far was discussed at the meeting, and also the need to review the possibilities to further strengthen the relations between the two countries.

"The commitment to peace, in times like these, is confirmed by the readiness to protect our values as well as our territories, at any cost and with all the necessary means. This is what, above all, should bring us closer and closer, more and more", said Speaker Glauk Konjufca.

The President of Estonia, Karis, after emphasizing the close relations that exist between our two countries, confirmed the official support of Tallinn for Kosovo in the future as well.

At the beginning of the visit, Speaker Knjufca, accompanied by the Chief of Cabinet, Ilir Kërçeli and Councilor Donik Sallova, was received in a meeting by the Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic of Estonia, Lauri Hussar.

Konjufca expressed to his Estonian counterpart his gratitude for the support that Estonia has offered to the Republic of Kosovo in international terms and regional challenges. The head of the Assembly said that Kosovo and Estonia are united by strategic partnership, common interests in many spheres, continuous cooperation, values, and aspirations of democracy.

The President of the Riigikogu of Estonia, Hussar, confirmed that his country's support for Kosovo will continue in the future, as well as cooperation in many spheres of mutual interest.

They agreed on the need to further deepen the relations between the two countries, through the exchange of parliamentary experiences, economic investments, commitment to digital transformations, cooperation regarding security challenges and in any field of common interest.

In this warm and friendly meeting, speakers Konjufca and Hussar also discussed the political situation in Kosovo and Estonia, emphasizing that in addition to interests, both countries also share the risk of a Russia in search of instability.

"The alliance of democratic countries is the only answer to the Russian threat, its allies, and satellites, whereas our determination in the values of democracy is the unshakable guarantee of the common future of peace and progress", it was emphasized in the meeting.
