Kertiniq for KosovaPress: The petition has ended, we have exceeded the required number
The process of signing the petition for the dismissal of the mayor of
Northern Mitrovica, Erden Atiq, has ended on Friday evening.
This has been confirmed for KosovaPress by Sanja Kertiniq, a member of
the initiating group in the north of Mitrovica.
"I don't know exactly, but I am very sure that we have exceeded
the necessary number", said Kertiniq, adding that on Monday they will
submit the signatures to the chairman of the Municipal Assembly.
Otherwise, for the petition to be successful in the north of Mitrovica,
it must be signed by a total of 3,640 citizens.
The petition for the dismissal of the mayors of
the four northern municipalities started on Tuesday in the north of Mitrovica
and Leposaviq, from Friday it also started in Zveçan and Zubin Potok.
