Former President of Kosovo, Atifete Jahjaga recalled the Srebrenica massacre. On the 26th anniversary of the Srebrenica massacre, Jahjaga said the pain is the same and the wounds are still open. "The pain is the same, the wounds are still open, and mothers still weep! Twenty-six years after the Srebrenica Massacre - the most horrific crime in human history since World War II - we sympathize with the families of over 8,000 boys and men who were barbarically killed by the Serbian army. Srebrenica is our pain and suffering, but also the greatest lesson we can learn to prevent such a crime from ever happening again," Jahjaga wrote.
