During the last year, the Police Inspectorate of Kosovo has received over 1650 complaints against police officers, a significant increase of 16% over the previous year. One of the reasons that has aroused dissatisfaction with the police, according to the Inspectorate, is the anti-COVID measures. As a result of the complaints, 83 police officers were suspended, criminal charges were filed in 82 cases and 32 police officers were arrested.

The Chief of the Police Inspectorate of Kosovo, Kushtrim Hodaj, said that there are suspicions of various criminal offenses for these police officers. He told KosovaPress that the most frequent cases are ill-treatment of citizens, abuse of official position and traffic accidents.
