The Minister of Justice, Albulena Haxhiu, called the decision of the Constitutional Court to declare the Law on the Kosovo Prosecution Council (KPC) unconstitutional, absurd, and therefore the same should be declared invalid in its entirety. Haxhiu said that the Constitutional Court has completely ignored both opinions of the Venice Commission regarding this law, giving Kosovo a serious blow but also hindering the reform in justice.

Haxhiu stated that the purpose of the institution she leads has been to reform the KPC with the proposed law, to amend and supplement the Law on the KPC in order to eliminate the interest groups and corporatism, that according to her currently prevails in the composition of this Council.

According to the Minister of Justice, this corporatist system has caused the state prosecutor to not be up to the task as required by the constitution and to be influenced by interests, including political ones.
