The Minister of Justice, Albulena Haxhiu, says that justice reforms are opposed by the justice system and the opposition. She considers the opposition parties allies of the Constitutional Court, which she says are protecting their interests.

According to her, the recent competitions in the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council reveal the bargains within this system.

In an interview for KosovaPress, Haxhiu also talks about the objections of some government MPs to the Civil Code. She says that during the year it will be processed in the Assembly and that she expects it to be approved.

She is not optimistic about the clarification of Astrit Dehari's case, for which she declares that only professional teams can handle this case.

The justice system is independent only on paper, says the Minister of Justice, Albulena Haxhiu.

While commenting on the reports with the Prosecutorial Council and the Judicial Council, she considers that this is happening because of the reforms.

The most prominent problems, as Haxhiu points out, are within the prosecutorial system of Kosovo. She considers that in the last competitions, bargains have been openly displayed.

In the interview for KosovaPress, Minister Haxhiu adds that the Law on the Prosecutorial Council of Kosovo is an important reform.

Haxhiu also considers that the opposition has become an ally of the Constitutional Court.

Further, she adds that the Constitutional Court should not take a year for important reforms, but these cases should be treated with priority. Not only from the opposition, but the Civil Code is not being supported also by the majority MPs.

While talking about the opposition, she also mentions the case of Astrit Dehari, where she says that all those who were in the government seven years ago are responsible, as she says, for the most serious murder in Kosovo.

Haxhiu mentions the priorities and plans for 2024, where she states that she will continue with the proceedings of laws related to justice reform.
