Hamza: We will build a society where women feel protected
PDK's candidate for prime minister, Bedri Hamza, has promised that during his government, state mechanisms will be strengthened to ensure that any form of abuse against women is punished.
At the women's rally in Pristina, Hamza said that the objective of his government will be gender equality and that they have foreseen a platform for women's empowerment, so that they feel safe and protected.
"The financial independence of girls and women is essential. I know that women need greater access to the labor market and to continue their studies. But they are often prevented because there are restrictions on taking their children to public daycare because there are no free places, private daycare is very expensive, and for this purpose, the PDK program foresees 100 euros in subsidies for each child per month, for all those women who are forced to send their children to private daycare," said Hamza.
Hamza once again promised a 50 percent salary increase for all public sector employees, as well as a 70 percent pension increase.
The PDK candidate for prime minister said he would build a Kosovo where women would be protected, supported and empowered. He also mentioned violence against women, for which he said state mechanisms would be strengthened to ensure punishment.
