Richard Grenell, who today officially took office as the United States special envoy for special missions, has once again focused on the expenses that USAID makes in the Western Balkans, which have been said to be alarming.
He wrote in X, that hardworking Americans pay taxes, while politicians in Washington DC spend that money recklessly.
According to him, billions of dollars have been given to left-wing NGOs to promote radical policies in other countries. Here is an excerpt from USAID.

“USAID Spending in the Western Balkans (2020-24). Kosovo: $537 million, Bosnia: $402 million, North Macedonia: $290 million, Serbia: $209 million, Albania: $189 million, Montenegro: $77 million. WB6 Total: $1.7 billion.
Meanwhile, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced that he has taken the post of acting director of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
Rubio said that “USAID’s functions” must be aligned with US foreign policy and that it is “a completely unaccountable agency,” CNN reports.
