The analysis of the thyroid gland, which costs patients about 15 euros, is now being done for free at the FMC VI Family Medicine Center in the "Sunny Hill" neighborhood in Prishtina. Since the first week of June until now, nearly 130 patients have expressed interest in thyroid gland analysis at this center.

The head of this medical center, Hana Deshishku, in an interview for KosovaPress, shows that the patients' interest in performing the tests is great. She points out that this analysis is done to verify the health condition and establish a diagnosis.

Fatigue, lethargy, drowsiness, weight gain or weight loss, metabolic disorders are among the symptoms that patients describe for the thyroid gland. Deshishku tells KosovaPress that another HbA1C analysis is done at the FMC, through which the condition of the patients is monitored throughout the quarter.

Regarding this innovation in the 'Sunny Hill’ FMC, the director of Health in the Municipality of Prishtina, Izet Sadiku, says that it was done in order to avoid overloading the services in the centers.

In a statement for KosovaPress, Sadiku mentions that they are compiling a plan for similar analyzes to be carried out in other family centers in the capital.

KosovaPress has contacted several private laboratories in Prishtina about the prices of the thyroid gland analysis.
