Visa liberalization for the citizens of Kosovo will not happen this year. Although there were high expectations that such a thing will be achieved during the German presidency of the EU Council, and despite fulfilling all the criteria of the meeting that is expected to be held next week between the Kosovo-France technical delegations on this issue, the "green light" for visa liberalization may come at the end of 2021.

The rapporteur on Kosovo in the European Parliament, Viola von Cramon, says for KosovaPress that visa liberalization for Kosovo can be put on the agenda in the remaining meetings chaired by Germany, but formal visa liberalization may only come in later Council presidencies.
