Former Minister Baliq found guilty of sexual assault, sentenced to two years in prison
The Basic Court in Peja found the former Minister of Health, Numan Baliq, guilty of the criminal offense of sexual assault, sentencing him to two years in prison and banning him from practicing the profession as a doctor. The indictment says that on the evening of 12 August 2020, at around 22:00, Baliq, in the capacity of a health professional, sexually touched, without her consent, the victim, who was in the hospital that night because her baby was ill.
With these actions, the defendant committed the criminal offense of sexual assault and the court sentenced him to two years in prison, in which the sentence is also counted the time spent in detention and house arrest. As well as an additional sentence, there is a prohibition to practice the profession for a period of 2 years, after the judgment becomes final.
