Nine percent of polling stations in the country were opened late today in Kosovo, said Ismet Kryeziu from Democracy in Action (DnV).

According to the network of non-governmental organizations in Kosovo, the reason for these delays was the lack of commissioners in six percent of polling stations. In the first conference held today, it was stated that 20 percent of the polling centers do not have access for persons with disabilities.

Ismet Kryeziu from DnV said that today is an important day for democracy and the country. He also spoke about the electoral process held yesterday in diplomatic missions, stating that over 71 percent of citizens voted. He announced that nine percent of polling stations opened late today in Kosovo.

"Out of 2,589 polling stations, according to the data we have from the field, 9 percent of these polling stations opened late. It has been reported that the reason for the delay in the timely opening of polling stations was the lack of commissioners in 6 percent of polling stations. The arrangement of polling stations was done in accordance with the rules set by the CEC, and there have been no reports of instances where voting booths were not placed at the polling stations or cameras, which are used for the first time, being positioned in a way that would compromise the integrity of voters or the secrecy of the vote," he said.
