The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has notified all citizens of the Republic of Kosovo from the ranks of the Serbian community that based on the numerous requests for the conversion of driver's licenses from non-legal Serbian ones to Republic of Kosovo driver's licenses as well as the request to extend the deadline for conversion, the deadline has been extended until August 23, 2024.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, all citizens who possess a driver's license issued by non-legal Serbian structures can apply for an official driver's license of the Republic of Kosovo at all Centres for Equipment with Documents in the Republic of Kosovo.

"Since May 9, with the entry into force of this decision, until now, 5,787 citizens from the ranks of the Serbian community have applied for the conversion of driver's licenses from those issued by illegal Serbian institutions to official driver's licenses of the Republic of Kosovo", reads the announcement.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs thanks the citizens who have completed the conversion process and we invite all others who have not yet completed to use the extended deadline.

The ministry announced that after this date, for all those who do not convert their driver's license, action will be taken according to the relevant legislation in force.
