The American retired general, Wesley Clark, during his visit to Kosovo, was received in a meeting by the chairman of the Democratic League of Kosovo, Lumir Abdixhiku and his associates.

Abdixhiku highly appreciated the commitment and contribution of General Clark for the liberation of Kosovo. He said that Clark is a symbol of courage, leadership, support and unwavering commitment to justice and peace in Kosovo.

After the meeting, the head of the LDK said that the support of General Clark has been a light of hope and inspiration for the continuous efforts towards building a democratic, prosperous and peaceful Kosovo.

The chairman of the LDK, Lumir Abdixhiku, as a sign of gratitude for the contribution and the important historical role for the freedom of Kosovo, awarded General Wesley Clark the decoration dr. Ibrahim Rugova.

Abdixhiku said that this decoration recognizes the valuable support and long-term impact of Clark's efforts on our nation's path to peace and prosperity.

Meanwhile, the retired American general, Wesley Clark, expresses his surprise at the progress that, according to him, has been made in our country after the liberation of the country. He said that democracy is flourishing in Kosovo, while he said that during his visit here he remembered what our country looked like at that time.

He added that "People often ask me what's the difference when NATO intervened in Kosovo? But we went into Libya, we went into Iraq or what about Afghanistan? Why is it that it's Kosovo that has been successful? And in Libya they're still fighting, and Iraq is Iraq, and you know about Afghanistan. And is a very simple thing: the LDK”.

Among other things, Clark said that he hopes that the ties between Kosovo and the United States of America will strengthen even more, for which he emphasized that our country should continue to see the USA as its greatest friend.

We recall that the retired American general, Wesley Clark, led the NATO air campaign against Serbian military targets in 1999.
