CEC: Over 46 thousand citizens with the right to vote in the four northern municipalities

The Central Election Commission (CEC) has approved the incomplete report of the List of Voters on the process of voting for or against the removal of the mayors in the four northern municipalities, North Mitrovica, Leposaviq, Zubin Potok and Zveçan.

According to this report, the incomplete number of citizens with the right to vote in these municipalities is 46 thousand 248 voters or 1 thousand 153 voters more compared to the extraordinary elections for mayor which were held on April 23, 2023, while the number of the total number of voting centers is 44.

This was announced by CEC member Arianit Elshani.

Also, in order to operationalize the Municipal Election Commissions in these four municipalities, Executive Officers have been appointed, who are also the heads of the Municipal Election Commissions. In this regard, in the continuation of the meeting, the CEC made a decision on the appointment of about 20 members of the Municipal Election Commissions, but which can be completed during the following days. According to the Law on General Elections (2023), the MEC administers the elections within the respective municipality, under the exclusive supervision and instructions of the CEC./KosovaPress/
