Weather this week: This municipality issues recommendations for citizens

The Municipality of Prishtina, through the Directorate for Security and Emergencies, is calling for increased caution due to sudden weather changes.

The municipality recommended that citizens stay informed through warnings issued by official institutions and media.

“Avoid staying outdoors during storms and lightning. Secure outdoor objects that could be damaged by strong winds. Pay special attention to the elderly and children during extreme weather conditions. Do not park vehicles under trees or near objects that pose a risk,” the municipal recommendations state.

The Directorate for Security and Emergencies is on full alert and in coordination with all emergency services to protect the safety of citizens.

According to international forecasts, cold and powerful air masses are expected to penetrate from the northwest of the continent, initially affecting several European countries such as:

Northern Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Hungary, Slovakia, Poland, Ukraine, and Romania, where heavy rainstorms, dangerous lightning, and strong winds reaching speeds of up to 130 km/h are forecast – with potential for serious consequences.

In the Capital:

Tuesday will still be under the influence of hot air masses, but in the afternoon, cloudiness is expected to increase with local downpours, lightning, and winds up to 70 km/h.

Starting Wednesday, a strong cold front will bring a sharp drop in temperatures (up to 20°C lower), rainfall, and unstable weather conditions.

Thursday will be marked by frequent cloudiness and lower-than-usual temperatures.

Friday will bring gradual stabilization and a slight increase in temperatures, though still below 30°C.
