Kosovo’s Foreign Minister calls on Specialist Chambers: Do not make a political decision, but one based on justice

Acting Foreign Minister of Kosovo Glauk Konjufca has commented on the decision that the Kosovo Specialist Chambers will issue on September 16 regarding former leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA).

Asked what the position of Kosovo’s institutions would be if they are convicted, Konjufca called on the Hague court not to make a political decision, but a decision based on justice.

“I call on the Hague court not to make a political decision, but a decision based on justice. And if it makes a decision based on justice, we all know what justice is. We, as a people, are witnesses that the KLA’s war was a just war. If it had been a criminal war, it would never have received the support of the international community, keep that in mind. It is impossible for a criminal war to be supported by the United States, Great Britain, Germany and France. The best-known NATO generals were close to figures from the Kosovo Liberation Army,” Konjufca said, KosovaPress reports.

He further said that NATO officers cooperated in training KLA officers to ensure the success of the war, adding that they did so because the KLA contributed to stopping Milosevic’s genocide, which, according to him, is the meaning of the KLA’s war.
